Drama
Through Dunster HoCo, producers can seek funding and rehearsal space for shows in the House. Priority is given to Dunster students and applications from Dunster students will be accepted at all times during the year.

Music
Dunster abounds with music; the House has a long tradition of music-making and music continues to be an integral part of House life. Many members of the Dunster community and involved in some way with playing, singing, composing, producing, and enjoying live music. Musical events include:

  • Library Recitals: The Library is perfect acoustically and visually for vocal and chamber music, solo recitals, small orchestral performances, and poetry readings.
  • Messiah Sing: Annual December performance taking place in the dining hall, where many students and members of the community alike come to appreciate accomplished student musicians and take part as the chorus.
  • Open Mic Night: An open-mic performance opportunity for Dunster students, singer-songwriters from around campus, and other guests.

Dunster House Opera Society
The Dunster House Opera Society (DHO) was founded by Dunster students in 1992 and is open to all undergraduates. It is an entirely undergraduate organization whose goal is to provide the Harvard community with exposure to opera, as both a valuable art form and as an accessible, enjoyable form of entertainment. Past productions have included Candide, The Magic Flute, and The Marriage of Figaro. If you would like to get involved, visit the DHO website: http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~dho.

Please also let us know when you are part of a performance outside Dunster! Email your music tutors, Justin Albstein (jalbstein@gmail.com) or Yunsun Nam (ynam@fas), so that your performance can be posted online and friends and tutors can go watch you perform.
