B FINALS RESULTS

Congrats to Women's B and Men's B for some tough rowing in hard-fought races this morning, out there in challenging conditions (see results below).  Given the number of new rowers we have on our team this year, having placed 4th and 5th out of 10 boats in each B division is a huge achievement and you should all be very proud of a great season.

  Women's B:

1. Cabot  4:15
2. Quincy 4:17
3. Eliot  4:23
4. Dunster4:24
5. Pfoho  4:29
6  Dudley 4:31

Men's B

1. Eliot 3:15
2. Dudl. 3:16
3. Quincy3:20
4. Kirkl.3:23
5. Dunst.3:25
6. Cabot 3:31

--Wed May 3 06--
So the results for the first round of races are in, and Dunster crews proved their mettle in all four divisions.

Yesterday, MEN'S A came in a very close third place in their heat, and are well-placed to qualify for the finals. WOMEN'S A came in second in a contentious heat that turned into a two-boat race after an Adams rower was rudely ejected from her boat! They have qualified for the finals next week and are ready to rock!

This morning, MEN'S B rowed a truly heroic race, coming in second to Winthrop (which was really Winthrop's "A" boat, given they only have one boat). Men's B overcame a pretty serious mid-race crab to outsprint Cabot to the finish line and qualify automatically for the finals.

Finally, WOMEN'S B overcame the last-minute loss of one of their best rowers (thanks to Kyle for the last-minute sub!), sprinted down to the course to make the race in time, and finished a solid third (behind winners Quincy, who again had entered their only boat in the "B" division). Women's B looks solidly placed to qualify as well.

Overall a great performance from Dunster crews who all came in the top three of their respective heats! I'm very proud to be leading such a great and dedicated group of rowers. Only one more week of crew to go, I'll see you on the water!

--Thu April 27 06--
CREW SHIRTS are here! We will be distributing them tomorrow, so we all look sharp on the water. Good luck with the last few practices before the races!

--Fri April 21 06--
Note that the dates of HEATS and CONSOLATIONS are likely to be pushed back a week. When this is finalized I'll let you know. GREAT JOB out on the water for the first few weeks of practice!

--Sun April 9 06--
The dates for the races have been released, see below. Note: only a couple weeks until the heats!!

--Sun Mar 19 06--
This week we will continue to practice in the tanks to hone our technique and work together as a boat before the season starts after spring break. Your tank practice will be the only crew-related obligation this week. We have the following tank times allotted:

Women's B: Monday 8-8:30am
Men's B: Wednesday 2-2:30
Men's A: Thursday 4:30-5
Women's A: Friday 3:30-4

If you can't make your assigned tank time (you have class, you're leaving early for spring break, etc.) please email me and let me know. We'll try to put you in another tank time to get a bit more practice.

--Mon Mar 13 06--

Thanks to all who got swim cards and erg times to me last night. All others should get times/cards to me by 11pm tonight!

CERTIFICATION will be on Friday, March 17 from 7-8am in the rowing tanks. All boats will be certified.

We will be practicing in the tanks on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Once boats are selected I will send an email with the schedule.

--Thu Feb 23 06--

Welcome to Dunster Crew! There are a few things that we need to take care of in the next couple weeks.

First, you must go to the MAC and obtain a swim card. See: here for details.

Swim cards and best erg times for 2000 m are due to me on Sunday, March 12 at 11pm. We have ergs availble in the Dunster cardio room as well as at the MAC. This weekend, we will be holding an intro session to show you how to use the ergs.

Lists of how many times each person has subbed are available here. Captains, please keep this info up to date!
