Issues for the Week

Submission of Similar Papers to More than One Course: If you would like to turn in the same or substantially the same paper to more than one course, you must get prior written permission from the instructors involved. Since each paper you turn in is expected to be written specifically for the assignment, failure to get written permission is deceptive, and students who do it are ordinarily required to withdraw from the College by the Administrative Board. Instructors do not always give permission, and they often expect a longer or somewhat different paper when they do give permission to do this. If you have any questions, please see me.

Final Exam Schedule
The Spring 2016 Three-Hour Exam Schedule is available on the Registrar’s website, and exam locations will be added shortly.

Conflict with another Exam
If you have a conflict between exams on the Three-Hour Exam Schedule, the Registrar’s Office is aware of your conflict and will automatically resolve it by scheduling a separate time for you to take one of the exams. Details for rescheduled exams will be sent by mid-April, and no student action is needed. If you have a conflict involving an exam that does not appear on the three-hour exam schedule, please email the Registrar’s Office immediately.

Exams In Absentia
Students requesting to take an exam in absentia must submit a petition to the Administrative Board (facilitated by Resident Dean) and an Application for In Absentia Examination. The form must be completed in its entirety and you are responsible for finding a suitable proctor to administer the exam. If you are taking more than one exam in absentia you must submit a separate application for each course.

Tutor On-Call
The tutor on-call from April 11 to April 18 is Andrew Chael. He resides in Dunster W-110, and can be reached at 505.974.0538 in the event of an emergency.

BSC Peer Tutor Recruitment Lunch, Bureau of Study Counsel, Friday, April 15, 2016, between noon-1:30 p.m., at the BSC, 5 Linden Street:
Drop by the BSC for pizza and dessert to find out more about how to become a BSC Peer Tutor for Fall 2016. BSC Peer Tutors earn $18 / hour, one of the highest wages on campus! You may tutor for any course in which you have received an A- or better. This is a great way to help out other students, build your resume, and earn some extra money. (Please note that the College subsidizes the peer tutoring fees in order to make peer tutoring accessible to all students. While BSC Peer Tutors are paid $18/hour, students pay $7/hour to receive peer tutoring. In addition, Financial Aid automatically reimburses the $7 fee on a student’s term bill in proportion to the student’s financial aid package.)

April 27, Wednesday
Last day of spring term classes.
Students leaving the College after this date are charged full housing/room fees.

April 28, Thursday
Last day in the spring term upon which undergraduates will ordinarily be granted a leave of absence from the College.

Students leaving the College by this date are charged three quarters of tuition, and the Student Services Fee. After this date, students will be charged the full amount of those costs.

Hi everyone, my name is Diana Hovsepian and I am the academic coordinator in Dunster House. I have been working here since 2009: helping with your academic questions and issues, managing student records, organizing and helping with House events and Commencement. When I am not in Dunster, I am spending time with my husband, our children, and our Boston Terrier in Bedford, MA.
