Mooseletter – April 9, 2018

From the Office of the Resident Dean
Michael Uy

Dearest Meese, I haven’t got much to say apart from, “I absolutely believe in you!” Keep your heads up, share joy and generosity in the house, and remember that you are unique and precious. I am happy to meet with you this week during office hours or a time of your suggesting. I hope you have a fun and safe Yardfest. *Happy Moose* and shoutout to Dunster Volleyball B. Still loving the posters.

Submission of Similar Papers to More than One Course: If you would like to turn in the same or substantially the same paper to more than one course, you must get prior written permission from the instructors involved. Since each paper you turn in is expected to be written specifically for the assignment, failure to get written permission is deceptive, and students who do it are ordinarily required to withdraw from the College by the Administrative Board. Instructors do not always give permission, and they often expect a longer or somewhat different paper when they do give permission to do this. If you have any questions, please see me.

Final Exam Schedule

The final Exam Schedule is available at the Registrar’s website:

Conflicts with exams on the Final Exam Schedule:
You do not need to take action. The Registrar’s Office is aware of your conflict and will automatically resolve it by scheduling a separate time for you to take one of the exams within 24 hours of the original exam time (Out of Sequence Exam). You will be notified of the alternative time in mid-April, and no student action is needed to facilitate this process. Conflicts with exams that are not on the Final Exam Schedule: Please email immediately.

Interested in Taking Some Time Off? Please speak with me about this, as we must file this information with the Registrar’s Office.

About hovsep

Welcome back to Dunster! I have been the administrative assistant to the Dean since 2009: managing student records, answering your academic questions, and coordinating Commencement and other House events. I also am here to aid you in coordinating your medical school application process and getting your recommendations in order, so please visit me if you have any questions. Every Monday, I publish the Mooseletter in the dining hall and in your inboxes with news from our offices, which includes academic deadlines, upcoming House events, and information you will find useful. If you find that you have any questions about academics, need to get in contact with the Dean or just want to chat, please stop by! When I am not in Dunster, I am spending time with my family and two Boston Terriers in Bedford, MA. I also love reading, traveling, watching movies, and I am always on the lookout for recommendations if you have any! Let's have another great year in Dunster!
