Mooseletter – February 21, 2017

From the Office of the Interim Dean
Jennifer Hsiao

Issues for the Week

TODAY (Tuesday) is your last opportunity to add/drop courses or to change the status of courses from or to pass/fail.

Pass/Fail: The form is located in your “document center” at my.Harvard. You will choose the course and the option, print the form, obtain the signature of the instructor, advisor, and mine. Then the form must be taken to the Registrar’s office by 5 pm today.

Add/Drop/Swap: Use my.Harvard to add and drop until today- you do not need signatures from me. To add a course you will need instructor permission obtained by requesting permission electronically on my.Harvard.

The Seventh Monday is March 6th. This is the last day in which you may withdraw from a course for the fall term. If you have any questions about this, or still need advice about your course load, please sign up to see me or come by during office hours. To withdraw from a course use the form on the Registrar’s website, obtain the appropriate signatures and turn it into the registrar’s office

FIVE COURSES
Many of you are enrolled in five or more courses this term. This is a good time to review that choice. If you are having a difficult time balancing your courses; have never really been engaged in one of the courses you are taking and are behind in it; or have simply discovered, as a graduating senior or an eager sophomore, that taking that extra course you do not need has prevented you from doing other things, drop it! If you need to withdraw from a course at a later point (with a WD), you will have until the 7th Monday, March 7th. Questions? Stop by to see me.

SENIORS
Take careful note of the courses you are adding or dropping and that you are signed up for the appropriate number and type of courses you need to graduate.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. ~Aristotle

About hovsep

Welcome back to Dunster! I have been the administrative assistant to the Dean since 2009: managing student records, answering your academic questions, and coordinating Commencement and other House events. I also am here to aid you in coordinating your medical school application process and getting your recommendations in order, so please visit me if you have any questions. Every Monday, I publish the Mooseletter in the dining hall and in your inboxes with news from our offices, which includes academic deadlines, upcoming House events, and information you will find useful. If you find that you have any questions about academics, need to get in contact with the Dean or just want to chat, please stop by! When I am not in Dunster, I am spending time with my family and two Boston Terriers in Bedford, MA. I also love reading, traveling, watching movies, and I am always on the lookout for recommendations if you have any! Let's have another great year in Dunster!
