Mooseletter – November 12, 2019

From the Office of the Resident Dean, Michael Uy
Dearest Moose, I cannot believe we are in mid-November; just a little over a fortnight and we (or at least, I) will be eating copious amounts of stuffing and cranberry sauce! I also heard, though, from Paul, our HUDS manager, that it’s forecast to snow this week  Hold your heads up and know that we’re all rooting for you. We will turn on the fire in the dining hall when it’s cold; we will drink hot chocolate and talk about your plans for the winter; we will commiserate the casual parking and discarding of electric scooters. We’ll also celebrate our little moose this week as they finalize and declare their concentrations! Come this Thursday evening to join together and fete our sophomores in the JCR as they mark this milestone. (All classes welcome!) And even if you’re unsure about that Economics concentration, don’t worry, there will be plenty of time to change! Did you know your resident dean was initially pre-med in college? Lastly, thank you to an amazing Trivia Night co-host, Jiho Park, and thank you to everyone who came and participated or watched! I love that the track team had so many people come that they had to form three groups. Congratulations to “Baby Got B.A.C.C.” (Bella, Alex, Caroline, and Claire) on your tie-breaking win!
This month’s soap (and lotion) is brought to you by our lovely Faculty Dean Cheryl! Wash your hands with grapefruit and lavender; moisturize for these cold and dry autumnal days.

About hovsep

Hi everyone, my name is Diana Hovsepian and I am the academic coordinator in Dunster House. I have been working here since 2009: helping with your academic questions and issues, managing student records, organizing and helping with House events and Commencement. I also am here to aid you in coordinating your medical school application process and getting your recommendations in order, so please visit me if you have any questions. I also serve as a sophomore academic adviser in the House. Every Monday, I publish the Mooseletter in the dining hall and in your inboxes with news from our offices, which include academic deadlines, upcoming House events, and information from the Registrar’s office. If you find that you have any questions about academics, need to get in contact with the Resident Dean or just want to chat, please email me or stop by my office at E303A! When I am not in Dunster, I am spending time with my husband, our children, and our Boston Terrier in Bedford, MA. I love traveling, reading, watching movies, and I am always on the lookout for recommendations if you have any. Let’s have another great year in Dunster!
