Mooseletter – September 21, 2015

From the Office of the Dean
Carlos E. Díaz Rosillo

Use the Drop and Swap buttons to make changes during add/drop. You must swap courses to ensure that you don’t drop below required enrollment minimums. This means that you must first get instructor permission for the course you would like to add, and then swap it with the course you would like to drop. Visit the Knowledge Center for full edit, drop, and swap instructions.

Advice: Remember to think about balancing your course load this semester. If you are signed up for 5 classes, and this has become a little unmanageable, it will only grow more so with time. So, drop it! If you are enjoying a class and putting a lot of time into it, but signed up to take it pass-fail, you might think about changing it to a graded course; courses cannot be graded retroactively, if you signed up for it as a pass-fail course. If you have any questions, please come by to see me.

Senior Requirements, Student Records
Seniors, please stop by to see if you would like to confirm that you are on track or just to chat!

Noise And Parties
School has begun, so it is important that we respect each other’s space and need for quiet time to study. Please remember that although blasting music and being loud is never a good idea for your neighbors, official quiet hours begin at 11:00 pm during the week and at 2:00 am on weekends. Parties must be registered with the House Office, after receiving approval from your entry-way tutor. Party Registration forms, which are located in the House Office and on the House website, are due by 4 pm the Thursday before the party (for weekend parties) at the House Office. If the office has not received the form by that time, we’ll have to reschedule the party for another week. Thanks!

About hovsep

Hi everyone, my name is Diana Hovsepian and I am the academic coordinator in Dunster House. I have been working here since 2009: helping with your academic questions and issues, managing student records, organizing and helping with House events and Commencement. I also am here to aid you in coordinating your medical school application process and getting your recommendations in order, so please visit me if you have any questions. I also serve as a sophomore academic adviser in the House. Every Monday, I publish the Mooseletter in the dining hall and in your inboxes with news from our offices, which include academic deadlines, upcoming House events, and information from the Registrar’s office. If you find that you have any questions about academics, need to get in contact with the Resident Dean or just want to chat, please email me or stop by my office at E303A! When I am not in Dunster, I am spending time with my husband, our children, and our Boston Terrier in Bedford, MA. I love traveling, reading, watching movies, and I am always on the lookout for recommendations if you have any. Let’s have another great year in Dunster!
