Mooseletter – September 23, 2019

From the Office of the Resident Dean, Michael UY
Dearest meese, oh gosh, I can’t believe it’s already the Third Monday (and the fourth [?!] week of classes)! Today (9/23) is the last day to add/drop a class without a fee. You still have until the Fifth Monday to add/drop with a fee, or change a class to letter-grade or pass-fail. Despite me already hearing about midterms… I nevertheless want to encourage you to pause and think about the fullness and meaningfulness of your life outside the classroom. Do you like taking a stroll along Memorial Drive when it’s closed to traffic on Sundays? Are you reflecting on how you might engage more civically? How you can make a contribution to combatting climate change? Used your words for the greater good? I think before the days get too short and the cold weather forces us in, take the time – now – to be that IM athlete of the week (btw, I plan to participate in the River Run this Saturday!), to take some time to reflect in our Meditation Room, and to sit down next to someone new in the dining hall. As I’ve said before, you can use my message in the Mooseletter as an excuse to strike up a conversation with a Dunsterite you’ve never met before. “So my dean said we should meet new people…” *wink*I hope you all have an AMAZING week. Get that tattoo! *Happy Moose*

About hovsep

Hi everyone, my name is Diana Hovsepian and I am the academic coordinator in Dunster House. I have been working here since 2009: helping with your academic questions and issues, managing student records, organizing and helping with House events and Commencement. I also am here to aid you in coordinating your medical school application process and getting your recommendations in order, so please visit me if you have any questions. I also serve as a sophomore academic adviser in the House. Every Monday, I publish the Mooseletter in the dining hall and in your inboxes with news from our offices, which include academic deadlines, upcoming House events, and information from the Registrar’s office. If you find that you have any questions about academics, need to get in contact with the Resident Dean or just want to chat, please email me or stop by my office at E303A! When I am not in Dunster, I am spending time with my husband, our children, and our Boston Terrier in Bedford, MA. I love traveling, reading, watching movies, and I am always on the lookout for recommendations if you have any. Let’s have another great year in Dunster!
