Allston Burr Resident Dean
Gregory Davis

Greetings Dunster Community! After previously serving as a Resident Tutor, I am delighted to re-join Dunster House as the Interim Allston Burr Resident Dean. In this new role, I am the main liaison for students needing extra help achieving their academic and wellness goals. In addition to being around for House activities, meals, and events, I represent Dunster students to the College Ad Board as well as students who need help filing petitions and other requests with the College. I am excited to help guide your experience at Dunster, be it as a close confidant on your personal and professional aspirations or just a friendly face in the Dining Hall.

Beginning Spring 2024, I will also be a Lecturer in the Psychology Department where I will teach PSY 1522, “First Impressions,”  a course on the psychology of attribution – the methods our brain uses to understand others. This course is a great example of my scholarly background and interests. I obtained my BA in Psychology from Morehouse College and my JD from UCLA School of Law before coming to Harvard to earn an AM in Social Psychology in 2016 and a PhD in African American Studies in 2020. In my teaching and research, I focus on the psychological forces behind our judgments of others and the laws and policies we support as a result. If you have any interest in topics like this or current trends at the Supreme Court, let me know!

In terms of fun, I’m a bit of a geek. You can be certain that I’ve seen the latest MCU movie and will likely attend Fan Expo Boston each August. (I even still play Pokémon GO daily – I’d be happy to share my friend code for raids and trades!)

I am also a husband to tax attorney Nirisi (often bearing a dazzling smile and a chic YSL bag) and 3 year-old CJ (often bearing a perpetually-dirty iPad and a Capri Sun). Finally, as a Black, queer, neurodivergent (ADHD), first-generation, public school graduate from Detroit, please know that my office is as open and inclusive as the rest of me. I hope you feel comfortable showing off your whole self with me – even to just say hello.

My pronouns are he/him. Credit to Sandro Del Rosario for the picture.
