Mooseletter - 11/30/20

From the Office of the Resident Dean, Michael Uy

Deerest Dunster, my goodness, I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of the semester and that tomorrow is December! You’re telling me that reading period begins this Friday?! I hope you had a restful Thanksgiving and were able to celebrate it, even if differently this year. I am grateful for all of you – for your thoughtfulness, intelligence, diligence, and occasional humor. You keep me on my toes and remind me that changing the world is possible. You also teach me that often times, patience and perseverance are necessary. Just like it takes several years for a handful of you to mature into responsible adults, I was surprised that after two years in dormancy, my cattleya decided to bloom on Thanksgiving Day (photos included). I feel it’s a good omen for your own work and growth J We’re really coming close to the finish line, so cross it strong! If you need help or want to talk, don’t hesitate to reach out. This semester has been like no other so even if it’s the first time you’re having difficulties, that’s ok! – let’s connect and figure out a plan. Please continue to be mindful of Harvard's Honor Code as you are completing your psets, finishing your projects, and taking your exams. Double and triple check the formats and times of your exams! Wash your hands, be safe, eat well, drink water, exercise, sleep, and communicate!

Sending all the Dunster Love.

Wellness Discussion Group

Sunday, December 6, 4-5pm ET

Join your Wellness Tutors each week to discuss our reflections centered around a particular topic, article, or reading. We intend for this to be a space for us to engage in honest reflection and exploration about our beliefs (both conscious and not), our habits (both intentional and not), and discuss how to go about working on these and other aspects of our selves and lives that we might want to change in the service of living more fully and happily.

House Life & Community Engagement Survey

Please take 10 minutes to complete the fall 2020 House and Community Engagement Survey.

We and the College want to hear from you about how you are engaging with the community and how we can best support you. The results of this survey will be shared with House and community leadership in order to evaluate and best shape programming, support, and outreach.  We’ll ask your opinion on everything from house programming to social support to the overall sense of community. We also want to know how the pandemic has impacted your mental health.

Please make sure Dunsterites voices are included in this valuable feedback, and complete the survey by Sunday, December 6th!
