Mooseletter-11/8/2021

From the Office of the Resident Dean, Michael Uy:

Deer deer, Happy beginning to a sunny new week! While our afternoons now feel much shorter, I hope you wake up to the sun brightening your room! Here are some things to keep in mind, including Veterans Day (Thursday), a “staff” holiday with classes held. Next Monday, November 15th, is the withdraw deadline, which is the last day for students to make changes to their course schedule. Students are still able to take a leave of absence until the first day of reading period, December 3rd. SOPHOMORES! The concentration declaration deadline is November 18th, which is just a week and a half away. Please do proceed through the process in a conscientious and timely manner, but it’s also totally ok if you’re not 1000% certain you will graduate with the same concentration. Maybe you can think of it as cuffing season with a department, but you’re not locked down for marriage. Hopefully that can alleviate some anxiety? Or maybe you can ask your faculty dinner guest tomorrow (Tuesday) about what they studied in college and see how winding their path may have been! Jiho and I are looking forward to our first dining hall Trivia Night this Thursday at 6pm! Out of the six categories, here are two: World Geography and Environmental Health & Safety. Good luck! If you need any help forming a team, just write to me and I will gladly assist! And best of luck to our IM teams in playoff season! Third place is a fantastic place to be J Dunster Love!
