Mooseletter - 12/7/20

From the Office of the Resident Dean, Michael Uy

Deerest Dunster, I hope you all had a good weekend! Our heavy rain and snow here in Boston thankfully did not turn into a bomb cyclone, although it has become much chillier. I’m sure that all of you are now up-to-date about Harvard’s decision to allow juniors and seniors to return to housing (should you choose) for the Spring. This choice is probably disappointing to some, especially to sophomores, and I’m sorry. No matter what each of you decides, we will love you all as Dunsterites, and do our best to reach you wherever you are. If you’re thinking about returning, please make sure you’re apprised of all the rules, guidance, and advising that the College and I have sent out. While we would love to have you back as part of a safe community and environment, I wouldn’t advise returning if you don’t plan or think you can abide by the compact. As someone on the Community Council, I know mistakes may not always be intentional, but responses do follow. If it helps to talk about your individual circumstances, then please come by student hours and I’ll be happy to chat! Housing specific inquiries can continue to go to Rachel.

As we’re in the thick of reading period, I hope you are all able to study and complete your assignments successfully! Good luck and good effort on your exams and final projects. Please continue to be mindful of Harvard's Honor Code. Double and triple check the formats and times of your exams! Sending Dunster Love to each and every one of you <3

Talk to an Adviser: Virtual Drop-in Advising

Monday-Friday, 1:00-4:00pm (ET): OCS offers Harvard College undergraduates ten-minute “ask me anything” virtual drop-in sessions. This is the best way to get started with OCS or to have your resume or cover letter reviewed.

Log into the queue starting at 1pm.

Schedule Virtual Appointments (phone, Zoom, or Skype):

Discuss career decisions, summer planning, making connections, interviewing, applying to graduate school, or other questions during a thirty-minute scheduled appointment.

Schedule an appointment through the "Schedule an Advising Appointment" link in Crimson Careers. First year and sophomore students must attend a drop-in session or any OCS orientation first before appointment scheduling becomes available.
