Mooseletter - 3/15/21

From the Office of the Resident Dean, Michael Uy
Deer Meese, Let’s start off the mooseletter with the best news, which is that 119 baby meese have joined our family! Welcome to Dunster House! Seeing you jump up and down in the Zoom call filled my heart with joy J We were also so happy to see so many big meese attend the morning announcement as well as the evening Gather meeting!

I hope everyone is able to take at least a little bit of a break on tomorrow’s Wellness day (Tuesday). I know problem sets, essays, midterms, and theses continue, but even if you’re able to engage in a small amount of decompression, I’m sure your mind and body will be grateful! Perhaps you might attend the BGLTQ RuPaul screening this afternoon, or Community Night this evening. For those who signed up in advance, there is also Cookies and Conversations on Thursday.

Some of you, like me, might be thinking a lot about this one-year anniversary of de-densification. I look back on old emails with sadness, and think about so much that’s been lost this past year. I don’t want to sugarcoat anything. But I do look forward to a more hopeful future, and am comforted that we can shape this future together. Sending Dunster Love, near and far!

Cookies & Conversations
Thursday, March 18, 6 pm EST

Cookies & Conversations is part of Dunster’s faculty-student event series and is a great opportunity for you to invite a favorite professor to an evening of (virtual) conversation and (real) cookies! While this is a slightly different take on our traditional student-faculty dinners, the chance to gather in small groups with brilliant professors and engage in wide-ranging discussion is what makes this event so meaningful and enjoyable for faculty and students alike. All registered participants will be sent a cookie tin in advance to enjoy at the event. (Apologies we are unable to ship internationally.) We look forward to sharing in this wonderful House tradition with you, this year with cookies on Congregate!
