Non-Resident Tutor in Sociology
Gose

My name is Leah and I’m a third-year doctoral student is sociology at Harvard. I’m a resident tutor at Mather House and a sociology concentration adviser for Mather and Dunster Houses. An Atlanta native, I live for the (semi)warm summers here in Cambridge and I love exploring the city. I attended Washington and Lee University in Virginia where I received a BA in Sociology and German Language. After college, I worked in DC doing business development at a non-profit that employed wounded veterans and people with disabilities. My passion for understanding poverty and social policy led me here, where a good chunk of my research focuses on how people engage with social services and how local/state/federal policies affect their lives. My current work is a networks study of organizations working to help people who are hungry and dealing with food insecurity in American cities. I have a habit of picking up new hobbies and I’ll try anything once! I love vanilla ice cream, listening to music, fighting prejudice, and anything to do with autumn.
