Douglas Mata

 

Douglas A. Mata, MD, MPH, is a Pathologist and Associate Medical Director at Foundation Medicine in Cambridge, MA. Prior to joining Foundation, he was a resident physician at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School, and a clinical fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Rice University and his master's degree in public health from the University of Cambridge, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Madrid, Spain. His research on depression has appeared in the Journal of the American Medical Association and Lancet Psychiatry, and his work has been featured in Newsweek, TIME Magazine, and the Washington Post. He recently published his first textbook, Statistics for Pathologists. He is excited to be part of the Dunster community this year and is happy to help students develop their interests in biology, epidemiology, global health, medicine, and science, or to talk about life in general in college and beyond.
