Non-Resident Tutor in Economics
Namrata Narain

Hi Meese! My name is Namrata and I am thrilled to be a Non-Resident Tutor in Dunster House. I am originally from Jaipur, India (please ask if you are traveling to India and need recommendations!) I graduated from Harvard College in 2015, with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics, and went across the pond to get my master’s in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at the London School of Economics for a year. I have been back in 02138 ever since. I worked as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow in the Educational Innovation Laboratory at Harvard from the summer of 2016 to January 2018, where I studied fascinating topics in Social Economics like racial differences in police use of force, job training programs, school desegregation, and other related topics in the economics of education. I am currently a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow for  Professor Claudia Goldin. We are studying parental leave policies and their impacts on female labor force participation and firm productivity using survey and administrative data. As an undergrad, I was an avid participator in intramural sports (let’s go running together!), directed Ghungroo, and led conferences for Harvard University’s India Initiative. If you are thinking of masters programs in economics or searching for research opportunities, or in general trying to navigate the Applied Math/Econ concentrations, please reach out! I am also a good source of advice on podcasts and restaurants around Boston.
