MG Prezioso

Hi Dunster! My name is MG (short for MaryGabrielle) Prezioso, and I'm excited to work with all of you! A bit about me: I'm from outside of Philadelphia (though I'm a die-hard New York Mets fan), and I recently received my Ph.D. from Harvard's Graduate School of Education. (I graduated from the College in 2013 with a degree in English literature.) My ongoing research focuses on children's story world absorption - how children become “lost,” or immersed, in stories - and how absorptive reading can be leveraged in K-12 education to improve reading outcomes. I also write children's books, and my first series—picture books for kids with chronic conditions and food allergies—launched in 2023. Outside of work/research, I love musical theatre, running, traveling, reading, watching TV/movies (Bake Off brings me so much joy), and nerding out about Harry Potter and other fantasy/sci-fi books.
