Seda

Hey there! My name is Seda. I study Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Psychology, and am thrilled to be a part of the Dunster family.

I was born and raised in Istanbul, where I also completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Bogazici University. Upon receiving my Bachelor’s degree, I did a Master’s in Cognitive Psychology at Koc University where I gained valuable experiences as a researcher and educator. For my PhD, I work on the neural mechanisms underlying complex cognitive capacities such as object and action recognition. So I’m lucky to spend most of my time looking at beautiful brain images, and thinking about the human mind. Outside the lab, you can find me practicing this fascinating instrument called Qanun, exploring New England, or trying to learn rollerblading by the Charles River. Please come say hi if you see me rollerblading, although I might not be able to do a full stop to greet you back - at least, not yet!

I love doing research and thinking about minds and brains, but I don’t think research would be nearly as exciting if I didn’t get to connect with students through teaching and mentoring. That’s why I’m incredibly excited for my first year as a resident tutor, and look forward to supporting you on your Harvard journey.
